Sanford Health’s new orthopedic hospital and the Highpoint Hotel are set to begin operations in Sioux Falls, marking a major expansion of care and hospitality on the Sanford campus. The nine-story, 161,000-square-foot facility was designed to improve access to orthopedic services while enhancing the overall patient and visitor experience.
The new hospital significantly increases surgical capacity with 12 additional operating rooms and advanced technology, including an intraoperative MRI that allows for real-time imaging during procedures. These enhancements are expected to reduce wait times and improve outcomes for patients across the region.
Integrated into the upper floors of the building, the Highpoint Hotel—developed and operated by HEGG—introduces a new level of convenience for patients, families, and visiting providers. With 56 guest rooms and a boutique-style experience, the hotel allows guests to stay directly on campus, eliminating the need for additional travel during critical moments of care.
The project reflects a growing shift toward combining healthcare and hospitality, creating a more seamless and supportive environment for those traveling to Sioux Falls for specialized treatment.
